Uncle Clay and the Dastardly Snake

While at my dad's house, we found that their garden was full of snakes. I was trying to entertain the nephews and get them less scared of them. Clay was hungover and sleeping in the trailer. So I decided to give him a surprise wake up.
Alas, I couldn't stop giggling long enough to get it under the covers with him before it woke up.

Canada Trip

Okay, so we now have a better idea of our itinerary. We are going to arrive in Vancouver late on May 23rd and head over to Shawnigan Lake and Victoria for the first 9 days. We will then head up to Comox for about a little over a week and then head back to Vancouver for a day before flying out on June 11th. If you want to come visit at one of my parent’s houses, just let me know. The best way to get a hold of me is via my email. dannyusher@gmail.com I don’t want to post their phone numbers on a public blog but can email them to you if you want.
If you are in Vancouver and want to hook up, let me know. We have to do some paperwork on Georgia Street and then are free to do anything. We don't have any plans.
We hope to see all of you!

Scaring Pinky

The boy I scare is named Jeter but we have taken to calling him Pinky. Actually, everyone has taken to calling him Pinky now.
One day I asked him what color Emma's shirt was. He answered, "I am Pinky." Instead of, "It is pink."

The students started laughing. So he got angry because he didn't know why they were laughing. So I asked him again what color Emma's shirt was. This time he said it with more force because he was so angry, "I am PINKY!" And thus he destroyed his street cred forever.

It's funny because his older brother always tries to burn other students but always messes up his English and makes himself look like a fool. Last week, he was teasing a girl named Janet in his class about loving a boy named Donald. I was teaching them the sentence, "If you could do anything, what would you do and why?" It was his turn and he announced proudly, "If I could do anything, I would make love to Donald so Janet would be angry!"

There was an awkward moment of silence and then I said, "What?" And began laughing. I then translated it to Chinese which left the class in hysterics. He was so embarrassed and kept trying to explain what he meant to say but it was no use. There are only two boys in that class and he was left at the mercy of the grade 5 girls as they snickered away the rest of the hour. Every 10 minutes or so, I would hear one of the girls whisper "blah blah blah Adam make love with Donald." Then, they would all howl again.

He finally explained to me that he was trying to say "If I could do anything I would take away her love, Donald, so that that Janet would be angry."

Now a question for you. Drai has one patch of really long hair on the crown of his head. Should we cut it off to match the rest of his head or just leave it until we get to Canada?

May

Just wanted to do a quick update to tell you what is going on. We are now planning on flying home on May 23rd. Hopefully, my back will be strong enough. We can't really wait any longer after that anyways or we lose our flights. I am still quite sore and my hands have started going numb again which means something is wrong in my cervical spine. (Upper back.) You know when you sleep on your arm and wake up with it all pins and needles? That is what the feeling is like but it happens every time I lay down. I am not getting treated for that yet but will most likely start that physio as well. I am a mess. My back is recovering but really slow. Actually, this is probably the longest it has taken to get better. Most likely do to the baby. Aka. twinkle toes. Who never wants to stop dancing on me. The boy is energetic!

He has two joys in life, jumping on daddy and nipples. The later, I can understand but he is incessant about bouncing. I finally just ended up buying a really overpriced Fisher-Price Rain Forest Bouncer. It was worth every penny though.

Draidan is doing really well. He is quick to smile and starting to add a belly laugh to his repertoire, which I have yet to catch on film. It is really funny when he does it. It doesn't sound like a baby laugh, which makes it even funnier. Mike was over tonight and pointed out how freaking fast he is growing. I think he is going to be taller than me. Our friends keep telling us that his mannerisms don't look like a baby. He has really "adult" looking facial expressions. I keep seeing babies his age and he does look way older than them...so hopefully he won't look like Don Knotts by the time he is 12.
